 Job Description


  • Oversee the day to day drilling operations to ensure accordance with well program, operator's requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Communicate and meet with the Client on a daily basis in providing operational updates, discussing strategy for optimisation of drilling operations and well objectives.
  • Daily focus discussions with the client and with my offshore supervisors on QHSE related issues and in working towards a continuous improvement in safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure drilling practices are carried out safely and adhere to operator's and Archers policy and procedures.
  • Ensure that all operations and communication demonstrate full support and compliance with Archer QHSE Management Systems and Company Policies.
  • Ensure that operations are closely monitored, problems are anticipated and solutions created to avoid unnecessary expenditure through the use of after action reviews, planning meeting and ensuring that lessons learnt data basis are updated and current.
  • Daily meetings with the client to discuss AFE drilling operational and well objectives, and managing for militating against down time.
  • Carrying out Regular Management visits to the Platforms address and to communicate with Supervisors and crews and in conducting follow up audits to ensure compliance to all regulatory, contractual and Archer operational requirements.
  • Coordinating Archer onshore support infrastructure of its personal and office base staff, QHSE, procurement, HR and training and finance departments
  • Weekly meetings with Archer departmental support teams, (HSE, HR, Maintenance and procurement / finance teams )
  • Presentations to the Client on a bi monthly basis on Archer QHSE related performance, Drilling operational KPIs and rig efficiency, contractual issues , improvement and performance objectives for the following quarter
  • Ensuring Archer compliances to with all Brazilian regulated inspections from DNV to local navy inspections and operator audits
  • Providing regular status updates, reporting and meetings with the country divisional Operations Manager and Corporate on Operational KPIs , Budgetary and QHSE.
  • Attending weekly Pre Embark meetings to address and discuss with the crews recent HSE performance, improvement initiatives and listen to and provide feedback on operational and personnel related issues in building moral and raising awareness within the team.

Job description

  • Assist the driller in the safe drilling of each well according to the well programme
  • Responsible for the execution of first line maintenance for all of the drilling equipment according to company procedures
  • Carry out basic well control duties applicable for position
  • Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas
  • Measure and record all critical dimensions of downhole equipment to be run in the well
  • Prepares and makes ready all tubulars, handling gear and any equipment associated with forthcoming well operations
  • Maintain applicable reports as required by driller, client, and company procedures
  • Actively participate in safety, departmental, pre-tour, client meetings, etc.
  • Ensure that approved rig operating procedures are adhered to at all times. Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards to supervisor
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained in assigned areas
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management Systems
  • Mentor, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work in their current job positions and where appropriate coached and prepared for the next position
  • Effectively use all safety and environmental tools employed by Seadrill (4-point check, OBS cards, PTW etc.)
  • Perform all emergency duties as per designation on the station bill
  • Comply with the training matrix for the position
  • Comply with the Competence Assurance Program in a timely manner as per Seadrill requirement

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience as Derrickman or previous experience as an Assistant Driller on jack-ups or land based rigs
  • Valid Supervisors Level Well Control Certification
  • Desirable fluent in the reading and writing of the English language.
  • Able to operate rig floor equipment utilizing HIE (Human Interface Equipment)
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background Check. Complete competency requirements for current position and work towards gaining competency in the next position.

Job description

  • Responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel, operation of the vessel’s DP system, operation of all position reference systems as per Company and Vessel operating procedures when on duty. Shall not leave the bridge unless relieved by another qualified person
  • Ensure the bridge and DP logbooks are maintained
  • Operate the ballast control system to maintain the rig in a stable condition at the correct draft and trim as directed by the MSL
  • Operate the ballast control system as per Company and Vessel operating procedures. Perform as needed preventative maintenance (PM) on ballast, bilge and other relevant bridge equipment. Noting any problems in SAMS and follow up.
  • Responsible for the setup and maintenance of acoustic arrays, hydrophones and transponders.
  • Using Riser Analysis create the Well Specific Operating Guideline document for well planning. Advise relevant personnel as per Well Specific Operating guidelines (WSOG).
  • Ensure that all defects and anomalies on any bridge equipment are reported to the OIM and relevant department heads. Maintain records of these and ensure that they are corrected. Track reports through the Company Maintenance System.
  • Monitor Vessel Management System (VMS) and fire / gas alarms. Take appropriate action and recording as needed
  • Ensure marine publications and navigational charts are up to date and maintained
  • Ensure GMDSS systems are functioning, routinely tested and log book is properly maintained
  • Ensure watch checklist, procedure checklist and bridge equipment checks are completed. Liaise with other departments, client, supply boats etc.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safe transfer of fluids internally and between the rig and supply vessels
  • Enforce rig operating procedures at all times. Report all unsafe activities, situations, and potential hazards to supervisor
  • Monitor and control supply boat operations and any other operations within the vessel five hundred meter zone including ROV operations
  • Ensure there is adequate rig power and reserves for maintenance, current and forthcoming operations
  • Competent in the use of data logger and extracting information from it
  • Assist technical department in performing preventive maintenance on DP, AMS and fire and gas equipment as per company procedures. Ensure the system’s performance is not degraded by this maintenance
  • Knowledge of vessel FMEA, DP trials, and CMID or Marine Assurance Audits.
  • Familiarization with Company MOC Policy regarding Software updates to the DP system and keeping proper records of all Third Party Service Reports for future reference and tracking.
  • Assist the OIM and Marine Section Leader during emergency situations and perform all emergency duties as per designation on the station bill
  • Actively participate in safety, departmental, pre-tour, client meetings, etc. as required
  • Responsible for coordinating the permit to work system
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Dynamic Positioning Operator and Assistant Dynamic Positioning Operator to ensure they acquire adequate experience in the bridge environment to prepare personnel for the next position
  • Actively participate in weekly rig and departmental safety meetings
  • Actively participate in the Safety Management Systems
  • Ensure housekeeping is maintained in assigned areas

The Assembler will provide labor resources for the assembly and manufacture of gas power turbine packages, generator packages, and other related auxiliary equipment for the new Assembly & Test Facility to be located in Santa Cruz, Brazil. This individual will assemble units in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications, Supplementary Summary Data Sheets, (SSDS), and Quality requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mechanical assembly work to install piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrial components to complete assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, and welding equipment
  • Verify conformance of completed assemblies to blueprints and work instructions by using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers
  • Be accountable for maintaining equipment condition and provide daily maintenance support as required
  • Encouraged to recommend improvements to facilities, machines, and equipment
  • Other tasks include: Installation of tubing and piping; drilling and tapping; alignment and leveling; sub-assembly, installation, and testing of wiring; unit movement; grinding and polishing; steam cleaning and painting; and hydrotesting of piping

The Rolls-Royce Marine business is establishing a new production facility in Rio de Janeiro to assemble and test thrusters.

We are seeking to recruit an Operations Manager to manage the facility. The role will initially work with the facility project team in the run-up to production starting and to enable familiarisation with the product and organisation. Once production starts, the role will take full operational accountability and lead a small operations team on-site. The successful applicant will be required to spend circa 2 months in Scandinavia as part of the training process and will subsequently be based in Rio de Janeiro.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Recruit, lead and manage the operations team, ensuring employees are appropriately trained and supervised to carry out their roles effectively. Manage employee development for future requirements using the company standard processes and tools.
  • Lead all aspects of the operations activity, ensuring that agreed, current and future customer quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements are met.
  • Lead the planning and balancing of load and capacity to meet business demand and manage operational costs to ensure budgetary targets are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance to health, safety and environment rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that robust business continuity plans are in place for all key manufacturing resources, and are refreshed and tested on a regular basis.
  • Understand the technical and legislative requirements associated with the manufacturing activity and ensure consistent performance governance utilising the standard tools, KPI’s and processes to ensure that committed goals and improvements are achieved (Quality Management System, Rolls-Royce Production System, etc.)
  • Facilitate the development and operation of the manufacturing engineering processes (Capability Acquisition, Product Introduction & Continuous Improvement), ensuring process compliance and optimised manufacturing solutions.

Qualified candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Manufacturing or Engineering) and be both fluent in English and Brazilian Portuguese. This individual will also demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain planning and control with a good understanding of Marine industry and markets.

Additionally, preferred candidate will possess excellent people management skills with solid experience of leading production teams in a manufacturing environment along with strong planning and organisational skills with an ability to manage ambiguity. Prior wxperience of working with continuous improvement methodologies such as six sigma and lean (Green/Black belt accreditation would be beneficial) and working knowledge of SAP/BAAN is also desirable.

The Installation and Commissioning Manager will develop site and Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) execution plans and policy applications for the project based on the as sold scope and project location. The position will be based at customer sites in Brazil. This individual will also ensure the equipment is installed to the contract specifications and in accordance with Rolls-Royce quality processes and procedures as well as build a strong working relationship with the Customer's site representative.

This position will:

  • Provide cost input and mobilize resources for proposals that are being submitted
  • Undertake the receipt, installation, commissioning and testing of Rolls-Royce equipment
  • Complete and submit field issues notices to ensure any technical or parts issues are recorded and monitor progress on resolution
  • Report and track cost for the site phase and identifying opportunities to bring added value items
  • Close out projects and obtain project acceptance/sign off from the customer
  • Delivering a complete and professional handover of the project to the in service team

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's of Sciences Degree in Engineering and 5+ years experience in the oil and gas or power generation industries and experience in mechanical and electronics & instrumentation construction and commissioning. Additionally these individuals will possess the ability to travel extensively internationally and domestically on extended field assignment and possess a good command of the English language for both written and oral communication is required.
