Role Summary/Purpose
The Tax Controller demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities
• Responsible for specific tax compliance programs and initiatives
• Support development and recommendation of tax policy and provides technical advice with respect to areas of assigned responsibilities
• Ensure tax compliance deadlines are met by facilitating and coordinating efforts across multiple functions to gather required tax-sensitive data
• Examine transactional workpapers, schedules and reports gathered from business employees for accuracy, errors and omissions
• Work with tax and finance employees to document and support all significant financial reporting positions taken with respect to income tax accounts (including effective tax rate econciliations), examine and evaluate all deferred tax balances, reconcile income tax returns to ledgers, settle quarterly / annual taxes from GE Corporate and perform or monitor reconciliations of SFAS109 income tax accounts in accordance with GE account reconciliation policy
• Work with tax and finance employees to forecast taxes for financial planning & analysis purposes and compare actual to forecasted quarterly / annual effective tax rates
• Coordinate SOX 404 processes and review with respect to tax functions and extends these processes and reviews to serve as integral "real-time" internal audit or tax controllership reviews
• Develop new processes, systems, reports and schedules to ensure adequacy and function of all tax compliance programs and initiatives within areas of assigned responsibility
• Ensure the implementation of Tax Enterprise Standards

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Accounting, Finance or Law
• At least 10 additional years of experience in taxation or as a tax professional working on multi-national clients' tax-related matters or other GE's businesses
• Fluency in English, Spanish is desirable
• Willing to work in/relocate to São Paulo

Desired Characteristics
• Prior experience in taxation is preferred
Knowledge of Brazilian Tax and VAT system is preferred
• Certifield Public Accountant certificate or equivalent professional license is preferred
• Ability to evaluate complex proposals and anticipate, identify, and resolve tax-related risks and opportunities

• PC proficiency
• Experience working in a matrix environment

Role Summary/Purpose
The job holder is responsible for providing commercial leadership and direction within a multi discipline subsea project, sharing responsibility with the Project Director for the contractual and financial delivery of the project in accordance with the execution and financial plan. The job holder provides the key commercial interface between the internal biz units, functions (finance, planning, sourcing, legal), client and the management team on all project commercial and contractual matters.

Essential Responsibilities

• Facilitate the bid handover and booking process and ensure that the necessary commercial information is understood and disseminated to the extended project team.

• Establish and maintain the project variation control system and managing negotiations in line with contract requirements.

• Ensure compliance with the project specific contractual administration requirements.

• Provide advice, assistance and guidance to management, project managers and functions on project specific contractual matters.

• Manage the invoicing process ensuring that the project maintains the best possible free cash flow.

• Ensure commercial risks are identified and managed across the project scopes of work by controlling the overall project risk and opportunity review and reporting process.

• Accurately manage the project cost status and reporting and advising on variances, risks and corrective actions affecting the overall project estimate to complete. • Co-ordinate and support periodic client and internal reporting and performance presentations.

• Ensure a project sourcing plan and timeline is established with the support of Sourcing function and ensure that related commercial and contractual risks for key subcontracts and major purchases are being mitigated and opportunities are managed.

• Manage and support the formulation and negotiation of project contractual claims and counter claims.

• Support the handover process to the base organisation at project completion.

• Deputise for the Project Manager as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, or, other relevant legal, commercial, technical and energy related degree.

• Substantial contract management experience in an oil and gas capital construction project environment.

• Proven track record in contributing to the improvement of project profitability, cash flow and control of commercial risk in previous roles.

• Commercially, financially and contractually aware with good communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills.

• Strong commercial leadership skills with proven capability of working in a matrix environment and of leading by influence.

• Willing to work at a detail level.
